Audio Silence Trimmer
Remove dead air from the start and end of a recording. Upload an audio file, let the tool find the silence automatically, adjust the points by hand if you like, then preview and download the trimmed audio as WAV.
1. Upload audio
Common formats like MP3, WAV, OGG and M4A are supported. The file never leaves your browser.
2. Silence detection
Lower value keeps more quiet sound, higher value trims more aggressively.
3. Trim points
The green region on the waveform is what will be kept. Drag the number fields to fine tune by hand.
4. Preview and download
How to use
- Upload your audio file.
- Set the silence threshold and press Detect Silence.
- Check the green kept-region on the waveform and adjust the start and end numbers if needed.
- Play the trimmed preview, then download it as a WAV file.
Note: If speech starts very quietly, lower the threshold so the start of words is not cut off.
Tips
- Record with a little extra silence at both ends — it gives the detector room to work.
- Always listen to the preview before downloading.
- The downloaded WAV keeps the original sample rate and channels.
