Bank Zakat Deduction Calculator
Estimate the zakat Pakistani banks deduct from your profit-bearing accounts on 1st Ramadan. Both the nisab value and the zakat rate are editable, because the government announces them fresh every year.
Enter your balance — the estimated deduction will appear here.
How to use
- Enter the total balance in all your profit-bearing accounts (PLS, saving, term deposits) on the first day of Ramadan.
- Update the nisab value if the government has announced a new figure for this year — the default is a common recent value, not a live official lookup.
- The rate is 2.5% by default; you can change it if official guidance differs.
This is an estimate only. Banks deduct zakat at source on the notified deduction date from profit-bearing accounts only. Current (non-profit) accounts are generally exempt. Account holders who filed an affidavit (Form CZ-50) declaring a religious exemption are also not charged. Rates and the nisab threshold are set by the government each year, so always confirm with your bank statement and the State Bank notification for the current year.
Important notes
- Deduction applies to profit-bearing accounts (saving, PLS, fixed/term deposits), not to current accounts.
- If your balance is below the nisab on the deduction date, no zakat is deducted.
- Filing Form CZ-50 with your bank before the deduction date declares you exempt on religious grounds.
- The nisab and rate are announced by the government every year — treat this calculator as an estimate, not official advice.
