How motorcycle registration works in Punjab
When you buy a new motorcycle in Punjab, it must be registered with the Excise and Taxation Department before it can legally run on the road. The one-time cost is made of three parts: the registration fee, which depends on engine capacity; the number plate fee for the official plate; and the token tax for the first period. The three classes used here — up to 70 cc, 71 to 125 cc, and above 125 cc — are the standard bands dealers and excise offices use. This tool adds the three components and shows each line separately so you can compare what you pay against the dealer quote.
If you later sell the bike, ownership transfer has its own small transfer fee at the excise office. Enter the bike price above and the tool shows that transfer fee as an information line — it is not part of the first-time registration total.
