Import from git log
Paste raw git log --oneline lines. Lines in the conventional-commit style (type(scope): summary) are parsed, the type is mapped to a changelog category, and the items go into the Unreleased section.

No entries yet. Add a version above, or import git log lines to create an Unreleased section.
Markdown preview
# Changelog All notable changes to this project will be documented in this file. The format is based on [Keep a Changelog](https://keepachangelog.com/en/1.1.0/), and this project adheres to [Semantic Versioning](https://semver.org/spec/v2.0.0.html). _No entries yet — add a version or import git log lines to begin._
How to use
- Add a version entry with a semantic version number like
1.2.0— the release date defaults to today. - Select the version, choose a category (Added, Changed, Deprecated, Removed, Fixed, Security) and describe the change.
- Optionally paste
git log --onelinelines to import conventional commits into the Unreleased section. - Watch the markdown preview update live in the Keep a Changelog format.
- Edit or delete any version or item from the entries list, then copy the markdown or download it as
CHANGELOG.md.
Frequently asked questions
What does the Changelog Generator do?
It builds a Keep-a-Changelog formatted CHANGELOG.md from version entries, each holding change items grouped by category, with a live markdown preview.
Which change categories are supported?
Added, Changed, Deprecated, Removed, Fixed and Security, exactly as defined by the Keep a Changelog specification.
How does the git log import work?
Paste raw git log lines and the tool parses conventional-commit style lines, maps the type to a changelog category, and adds them to the Unreleased section.
How do I save my changelog?
Use the copy button to copy the markdown to the clipboard, or the download button to save it as a CHANGELOG.md file.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. All entries live only in the current browser session and nothing is sent to a server.
