Frequently asked questions
The average is the sum of all marks divided by the number of students. The median is the middle mark when all marks are sorted. A big gap between the two means a few very high or very low marks are pulling the average away from the typical student.
A student passes when their mark is at least the pass percentage of the total marks. For example, with 100 total marks and a 40 percent pass rule, every mark of 40 or above counts as a pass.
