Cold Safety Tips
- Warm up longer than usual — cold muscles need extra time to loosen up.
- Dress in layers you can remove as you heat up, and put them back on to cool down.
- Drink water even when you do not feel thirsty — you still sweat in cold air.
- Watch for slippery surfaces: icy paths, wet tiles and frozen grass.
- Breathe through a scarf or buff in very cold air to protect your lungs.
- Stop right away if you feel chest pain, dizziness, numbness or unusual tiredness.
