CSS Formatter and Beautifier
Minified or messy CSS is hard to read and risky to edit. Paste it here and get back cleanly indented code with one declaration per line, while comments and quoted strings stay exactly as they were.
How to use
- Paste your CSS into the first box.
- Choose an indent size and click Format CSS.
- Copy the clean result back into your stylesheet.
Tips
- Format a copy first and compare with the original in case a rare syntax edge case changes.
- Pick one indent style for the whole project and stick with it.
- After formatting, run your build or a CSS validator to catch anything the source had wrong.
- Minified files from libraries do not need formatting - only format code you maintain.
Note: The formatter is a structural beautifier for standard CSS. Very unusual syntax inside strings is preserved as-is.
