Break-even price is the lowest selling price you can accept without making a loss. Any discount beyond the maximum will cost you money on every sale.
Frequently asked questions
Margin is profit as a percentage of the selling price: profit divided by selling price, times 100. Markup is profit as a percentage of the cost price: profit divided by cost price, times 100. Margin is always smaller than markup on the same sale.
Enter your cost price and selling price, then check the break-even table. It shows the lowest price you can sell at without a loss, and the maximum discount percentage that still keeps profit at zero or above.
