Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How does the tool calculate the average I need on my remaining assessments?
Each completed assessment contributes (marks obtained / maximum marks) x weight. The tool adds those contributions to get your earned points. Required average on remaining work equals (target grade points minus earned points) divided by the remaining weight, expressed as a percentage. The per-row breakdown table shows the exact math for every row.
What happens if my completed and remaining weightages do not add up to 100?
A warning banner appears showing the actual total. You can click the Normalize weights button to scale all weightages proportionally to 100, or fix the numbers yourself. Predictions are most accurate when the total is exactly 100.
How are letter grades assigned to percentage scores?
The tool uses common bands: A+ 90 and above, A 85 to 89.9, B+ 80 to 84.9, B 75 to 79.9, C+ 70 to 74.9, C 65 to 69.9, D 60 to 64.9, E 50 to 59.9, and F below 50. Your institution may use different cutoffs, so always compare with your official grading scheme.
Can I test what-if scenarios with this predictor?
Yes. Enter an expected score for your remaining assessments in the what-if box and the tool shows the projected final percentage and letter grade instantly. Change the target grade any time to see how the required average shifts.
Is my marks data stored or uploaded anywhere?
No. All calculations run in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is sent to a server or stored, so your marks stay private on your own device.
