Fuel Cost Splitter
Fair fuel sharing is tricky when everyone rides different distances. Enter the total fuel bill and each passenger's travelled kilometres, and this tool splits the cost in proportion to the distance each person rode.
Passengers — name of each person and the km they travelled with you
How to use
- Enter the total fuel cost and the trip's total km.
- Enter each passenger's name and their shared km (use the + button for more passengers).
- Each person's share will show in Rs in the table.
Note: Fair share formula: share = (passenger's km ÷ total shared km of all passengers) x total cost. This works when the cost is split by travel km; settle the driver's effort or toll separately.
Tips
- Agree the formula before the trip — proportional splitting only works when everyone accepts kilometres as the basis.
- The driver can take a fixed contribution or skip the split; add their share manually if they drove the whole way.
- Handle tolls, parking and food as separate splits; they rarely match the fuel kilometres.
- Keep names short and consistent across trips — it makes comparing shares easier.
