These are well-known, authentic duas from the Quran and the Sunnah. The transliteration is a guide only — if possible, learn the Arabic wording from a teacher so your recitation is correct.

Frequently asked questions

The essential duas include the Talbiyah after ihram, the dua when entering Masjid al-Haram, the dua upon seeing the Kaaba, the tawaf opening dua, the dua between the Yamani corner and the Black Stone, the dua at the Multazam, the Safa and Marwa duas during sai, and the best dua of Arafah.

The Talbiyah is the recitation said after entering ihram: Labbayk Allahumma labbayk, labbayka la sharika laka labbayk, innal hamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak. It is repeated often throughout Hajj and Umrah.

The best dua of Arafah is: La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. It means there is no god but Allah alone, to Him belongs sovereignty and praise, and He has power over all things.
