How it is calculated
Kilowatts = watts ÷ 1000. Units per day = kilowatts × hours. Cost = units × your tariff. Monthly values multiply the daily result by the number of days.
Winter saving tips
- Use the thermostat. Heating a room to 22°C then letting the thermostat cycle costs far less than running on full blast all night.
- Close doors and seal gaps. Warm air escapes through open doors and window gaps; a small draft stopper under the door keeps heat in the room.
- Heat only the room you use. Turn the heater off before leaving and avoid heating empty rooms or the whole house.
- Clean the heater and keep it clear. Dust on elements wastes power, and furniture in front of the heater blocks warm air flow.
- Pair with warm clothing. A lower heater setting plus warm layers and closed curtains at night cuts running hours a lot.
