Ideal Gas Law Calculator
Solve PV = nRT for any missing variable — pressure, volume, moles or temperature. Enter the three values you know with their units and get the answer instantly.

How to use
- Choose which variable you want to solve for.
- Enter the other three values with their correct units.
- The answer appears right away, with conversions to other common units.
Tips
- Temperature must be in kelvin for the gas law to work — the tool converts for you.
- Keep your units consistent and double-check the unit dropdowns.
- See the note about real gases — the law is approximate at high pressure.
- Use it to check homework or plan experiments, not for lab-grade results.
Note
This uses the ideal gas constant R = 8.314 J/(mol·K). Real gases follow this law closely at ordinary temperatures and pressures, but deviate at very high pressure or very low temperature.
