IMEI Check Digit Validator
Every phone has a 15-digit IMEI, and the last digit is a check digit computed from the first 14 using the Luhn formula. Enter an IMEI below to validate it and see the full calculation, step by step.
Validate an IMEI
Enter 15 digits to validate, or 14 digits to calculate the check digit.
How to use
- Type or paste your IMEI (15 digits) into the box.
- Press Validate — the tool runs the Luhn check digit calculation.
- Green means valid, red means the number is not a real IMEI structure.
If you only have 14 digits, the tool will calculate and show the correct 15th check digit.
Tips
- The first 8 digits are the TAC (Type Allocation Code) which identifies the phone model.
- A valid check digit only proves the format is correct — it does not prove the phone is genuine or unblocked.
- Check blocked or stolen status with PTA or DIRBS separately.
- Keep your IMEI written down separately in case the phone is lost.
