kW to Amps Converter
Choosing the right breaker or cable starts with current. Enter the load power in kW, the supply voltage and whether the system is single or three phase — the tool applies the correct formula with your power factor and returns the current in amps instantly.

How to use
- Enter your values in the boxes above or select an option.
- The result updates live — no button press is needed.
- Change any value to see the new result right away.
Note
Formula: for DC, I = P / V; for single phase, I = P / (V x PF); for three phase, I = P / (1.732 x V x PF). Always choose a breaker and cable size a little above the load, and get the final work done by a certified electrician.
Tips
- For three-phase loads the formula divides by √3 × voltage × PF — handled automatically when you select three phase.
- Use the motor’s rated power factor (often 0.8) rather than 1.0 for realistic current figures.
- Round up when sizing breakers and cables — protection devices come in standard ratings above your calculated value.
