The four stages of long division
For each digit position the tool shows all four classic stages: divide (how many times the divisor fits), multiply (multiply that digit by the divisor), subtract (subtract the product from the working number), and bring down (pull down the next digit of the dividend). After the whole-number digits are used up, it can keep going past the decimal point by bringing down zeros.
