Matric + Inter Merit Calculator

Find your university admission merit in seconds. Enter your matric, intermediate (inter) and entry test marks, set the weight each part carries, and your aggregate percentage updates live.

MDCAT is usually 200; some tests use 100 or 400 — change it here.

Weight of each part (%)

Enter your marks — your merit aggregate will show here live.
Tip: many Pakistani universities use matric 10% + inter 40% + test 50%, but each university can differ. Set the weights to match the university you are applying to.

Aggregate (merit)—

How merit aggregation works in Pakistan

Universities in Pakistan do not use your marks directly — they combine your academic records and your entry test score into one number called the aggregate or merit. The formula is simple: each part is first converted to a percentage, then multiplied by its weight, and the three weighted parts are added together.

Formula: Aggregate = (Matric % × Matric weight) + (Inter % × Inter weight) + (Test % × Test weight), all divided by the total weight. When the weights add up to 100, the sum itself is your aggregate percentage.

For example, with the common formula of matric 10%, inter 40% and test 50%: if your matric is 90%, your inter is 85% and your test is 70%, the aggregate is (90 × 0.10) + (85 × 0.40) + (70 × 0.50) = 9 + 34 + 35 = 78%. Notice how the entry test matters the most here — one strong test day can lift the whole aggregate.

Different universities use different formulas: some count only inter + test, some use 10% / 40% / 50%, and engineering or medical tests can follow their own published rules. The closing merit of each program also changes every year depending on the applicants. So always check the formula and last year closing merit on the official website of the university you are applying to — this tool is a planning guide, not an admission offer.

Note: this calculator assumes all weights are percentages adding up to 100. If your university uses a different total, the tool normalizes the weights automatically.
