Microphone Test Online
Check that your microphone works before a call or recording. Watch the live sound level meter react to your voice, record a 5 second sample, and play it back.
Live sound level
Speak normally: the green bar should rise with your voice. If it never moves, your microphone may be muted or blocked.
Record and play back
Start the microphone first, then record a short sample.
How to use
- Press Start Microphone and choose Allow when the browser asks for microphone permission.
- Speak and watch the level meter. A moving green bar means sound is detected.
- Press Record 5 Second Sample, then Play Recording to hear your own voice back.
Note: If nothing is detected, check the microphone mute switch on your headset, the system sound settings, and the microphone icon in the browser address bar.
Tips
- Sit about 15 to 20 cm from the microphone for a clear test signal.
- Test with the headset you will actually use, not just the built-in microphone.
- Background hum in the playback often means the microphone boost is set too high.
- Everything runs locally — no audio leaves your device.
