NADRA FRC Document Checklist

The Family Registration Certificate (FRC) is a NADRA document that lists your family as recorded in the national database. It is commonly required for visa applications, immigration cases, university admissions abroad and embassy paperwork. Choose your applicant type below to see the exact document checklist, tick items as you gather them, and estimate the fee.

What is an FRC and where is it needed?

The FRC confirms the composition of your family: parents, spouse, children and siblings, depending on the category you apply for. Embassies and institutions ask for it because it is an official NADRA record, not a self-declared list.

  • Visa and immigration: embassies ask for an FRC to verify family ties before issuing family, visit or settlement visas.
  • University admission: some foreign universities and scholarship bodies require it with the application file.
  • Legal and court matters: inheritance and guardianship cases sometimes require proof of family composition.
  • Government jobs and documentation: occasionally requested as supporting family proof.

Common rejection reasons and fixes

  • Family member missing from NADRA record. Get the missing member registered first (e.g. child registration certificate) before applying for the FRC.
  • Wrong marital status. If your record still shows unmarried after marriage, update your marital status at NADRA with the nikah nama before applying.
  • Expired CNIC. Renew the CNIC of any family member whose card has expired; applications with expired cards are not processed.
  • Name spelling mismatch. Names on the CNIC, nikah nama and birth certificates must match. Correct spelling differences at NADRA first.
  • Unverified fingerprints. If biometric verification fails at the counter, bring the original documents and ask the staff for manual verification.
