Net Metering Bill Calculator
Own a solar system with a green meter? Enter the import and export units from your latest reading, adjust the per-unit rates from your DISCO bill, and get an instant estimate of your net bill under net billing. Under NEPRA Prosumer Regulations 2026, exports are credited at ~Rs 11/unit while imports are billed at your full retail tariff, settled every month.
Enter import and export units — the net bill estimate will appear here.
How to use
- Enter the import units and export units from your green meter readings.
- Adjust the import and export rates according to your DISCO bill — under the 2026 Prosumer Regulations the export credit is about Rs 11/unit while imports are billed at the full retail tariff.
- See the estimated net bill and export credit — surplus exports reduce your bill as a rupee credit each month.
This is only an estimate: an actual net billing statement also includes peak/off-peak units, monthly settlement adjustments, GST, electricity duty, and your DISCO's specific billing policy. Rates change — verify with the official source (your DISCO bill) before relying on this. Existing net metering contracts stay valid until they expire.
Tips
- The export rate is much lower than the import rate — under NEPRA Prosumer Regulations 2026 it is about Rs 11/unit. Copy both from your latest DISCO bill.
- When you export more than you import, the surplus becomes a rupee credit on that month's bill (monthly settlement).
- Fixed charges and taxes vary by DISCO and slab, so treat the result as an estimate.
- Compare a few months of readings to spot a sudden drop in your system's output.
