Bill breakdown
| Item | Units (kWh) | Rate (Rs) | Amount (Rs) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Imported from grid | 0 | 0 | Rs 0 |
| Exported to grid (credit) | 0 | 0 | Rs 0 |
| Fixed charges | — | — | Rs 0 |
| Your net bill with net metering | 0 | Rs 0 | |
| Bill without solar | 0 | Rs 0 | |
| Monthly savings | Rs 0 |
Note: Estimated daily generation assumes about 4.2 kWh per kW per day in Pakistan. Units imported are taken as total consumption minus exported units (self-consumed power is not modeled separately). GST, fuel price adjustment and surcharges are not included — compare with your DISCO bill.
How to use
- Enter your system size and your monthly consumption.
- Enter the units you export to the grid (from your net-metering bill or installer estimate).
- Adjust the import rate, export rate and fixed charges to match your bill.
- Click Calculate Savings to see the full breakdown and your monthly savings.
Good to know
- Export credit is valued at the export rate, which is usually lower than the import rate.
- A bigger system raises exported units and shrinks the net bill.
- Planning the system first? Check the Solar Price Estimator or see when it pays off with the Solar ROI & Payback calculator.
- Everything is computed in your browser — no data is uploaded.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What values should I enter for units imported and exported?
Use your DISCO net-metering bill: imported units are the kWh you took from the grid, exported units are the kWh your solar system sent back. If you do not have a bill yet, enter your estimated monthly consumption and expected export from your installer quote.
How does the tool calculate the net bill?
Imported units are billed at the import rate, exported units earn credit at the export rate, and monthly fixed charges are added. The net bill equals import cost minus export credit (floored at zero) plus fixed charges.
How are the savings compared to no solar computed?
The no-solar bill equals total monthly consumption times the import rate plus fixed charges. Savings equal the no-solar bill minus the net bill with net metering, shown as a monthly amount and a percentage.
Can I change the export credit rate?
Yes. Every input is editable, including the export rate (default Rs 27 per unit), the import rate (default Rs 34 per unit) and monthly fixed charges (default Rs 500). Adjust them to match your DISCO bill.
Does this include taxes and surcharges on the electricity bill?
No. This is an estimate of the energy and fixed charges only. GST, fuel price adjustment and other surcharges are not included, so treat the result as a guide, not a final bill.
