Lost CNIC in Pakistan — Replacement Guide

Losing your CNIC is stressful, but the process to get a replacement is straightforward: report the loss, gather your documents, apply at NADRA for a duplicate CNIC, and track it. Use the estimator below with your own figures — all fees on this page are editable estimates, never official NADRA rates.

Step timeline

  1. Retrace and secure. Check where you last had the card, block any linked SIM or bank service if the card could be misused, and note down your CNIC number if you remember it.
  2. File a police report. Visit the nearest police station and file a report (FIR or roznamcha entry) for the lost CNIC. Get the report number and keep a photocopy — it protects you and is commonly asked for at NADRA.
  3. Gather documents. Collect the items in the checklist below: a copy of the police report, any copy or photo of the lost CNIC, and your documents. A family member with a valid CNIC may be needed as an attester in some cases.
  4. Apply at NADRA for a duplicate CNIC. Visit a NADRA Registration Centre and apply for a duplicate (reprint). Choose your speed category — normal or urgent — based on how quickly you need the card. Biometric verification and a new photograph are taken at the centre.
  5. Collect the receipt and track. Keep the application receipt and token number. Track the application status through the NADRA helpline (1777) or by following the instructions on your receipt.

How to use

  1. Follow the step timeline: retrace, file a police report, gather documents, apply at a NADRA centre, then track with your receipt.

  3. Tick the document checklist as you arrange each item; it stays saved in this browser.

This page is a general guide, not legal or official advice. NADRA processes and fees change over time, so confirm the current requirements and official fees at the NADRA centre or the official NADRA website. Filing a police report for a lost CNIC is strongly recommended to protect you against misuse of the lost card.
