About vehicle ownership transfer
When a vehicle changes hands in Pakistan, the buyer must transfer the registration into their own name at the Excise and Taxation department of the province where the vehicle is registered. The transfer fee is usually based on the engine size, similar to the registration fee, and older vehicles are often charged less through age-based bands. The seller normally completes biometric verification so the department can record the ownership change.
