Frequently asked questions
When are expenses deducted?
Expenses are always deducted first. The tool subtracts business expenses from total profit, and only the remaining net profit is split between partners.
What is the difference between the two split modes?
By investment amount splits profit in proportion to what each partner invested. By custom ratio lets you type any percentage share per partner, for example 50, 30 and 20. The percentages must add up to 100.
What happens if expenses are higher than the total profit?
The net profit becomes zero, so there is nothing to split. The tool shows a warning and sets every payout to zero until you fix the figures.
Tips
- Write down the agreed split in a signed partnership agreement before paying out.
- Keep the printed summary with your business records for every profit cycle.
- Your entries are saved in your browser, so you can reuse the same partners each month.
