Percent Change Calculator
Measure how much a value has grown or shrunk. Enter the old and new numbers to get the percent increase or decrease plus the absolute difference, calculated live as you type — handy for prices, marks and business figures.
Enter the values — the result will show live here.
How to use
- Enter the old value and the new value.
- The result shows both the percent change and the actual difference (new minus old).
- It shows increase if the value went up, and decrease if it went down.
Note: Formula: percent change = ((new - old) / old) x 100. If the old value is zero, percent change cannot be found.
Tips
- Percent change needs an old value that is not zero — change from zero cannot be calculated.
- A 50% drop followed by a 50% rise does not return to the start; the base changes each time.
- Use percent change for before-and-after comparisons like prices, marks and measurements.
