Random Password & Passphrase Generator
Generate a strong random password or a memorable passphrase. Both are created with a cryptographically secure random generator, 100% in your browser — nothing is uploaded or stored.
Passwords vs passphrases
Random passwords are the strongest choice for most accounts: 16 or more characters from all four character sets give 100+ bits of entropy. Store them in a password manager so you never have to remember them.
Passphrases — several random words joined together — are easier to type and remember. Each word from the built-in 192-word list adds about 7.6 bits of entropy, so a five-word passphrase has about 38 bits, and seven words give about 53 bits. Use passphrases for the few passwords you must remember yourself, like your password-manager master password.
Both generators use crypto.getRandomValues, a cryptographically secure random number generator — not the predictable Math.random.
