Growth tips
- Be consistent: a steady weekly rhythm of posts and comments beats occasional bursts.
- Comment early on rising threads: early helpful comments in fast-growing threads earn the most upvotes.
- Answer questions in your niche: expertise-based answers in communities you know well get upvoted reliably.
- Respect each subreddit's rules: low-effort or off-topic posts attract downvotes that wipe out gains.
- Post at active times: publishing when your target community is most active gives posts more initial visibility.
- Quality over volume: one well-crafted post often earns more karma than ten rushed ones.
How it works
The calculator uses a simple model:
monthly karma = (posts per week x avg upvotes per post + comments per week x avg upvotes per comment) x 4.33 + awards per month x 50
- 4.33 is the average number of weeks in a month (52 / 12), converting your weekly activity to a monthly figure.
- 50 is the assumed average bonus karma per award received.
- Projections assume your activity level stays constant — no compounding growth is assumed.
This is a planning estimate. Real karma depends on subreddit culture, timing, post quality and Reddit algorithm changes, so actual results will vary.
