Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Resume Skill Checker do?

It compares the words in your resume with the words in a job description and reports which job keywords you already use, which are missing, and how many of them match.

Is this an AI judgement of my resume?

No. It is a simple keyword-overlap analysis done in your browser. It cannot judge your experience, talent or fitness for a job the way a human recruiter can.

Is my resume sent to a server?

No. All text processing happens on your own device. Nothing you paste is uploaded, stored or shared.

How should I use the missing skills list?

Treat it as a writing checklist, not as skills to claim. Only add a skill to your resume if you genuinely have it, and show proof of it in your experience.

Why is my match score low even though I am qualified?

You may use different words than the job post (for example customer support instead of client service). Try adding the exact terms the employer used, where they are honest.

Is it free?

Yes, completely free with no signup. You can check as many resumes and job posts as you like.
