Screen Recording Support Checker
Find out in seconds whether your browser can record the screen. This page detects the screen capture API and the MediaRecorder API, lists the video formats your browser supports, and lets you run a short 6-second test recording with playback, resolution and bitrate details.

Supported recording formats
Green means your browser can record in that format. The tool automatically picks the best supported format for the test.
Test capture (6 seconds)
Press the button, choose a screen, window or tab in the browser dialog, and keep recording for 6 seconds. You will see a live preview and then a playback of your test clip with technical details.

How to use
- Wait for the automatic support check at the top of the page.
- Press Start test capture and pick a screen, window or tab in the dialog.
- Watch the live preview, let the 6-second countdown finish, then play the clip and read the resolution and bitrate.
Tips
- Screen capture needs a secure page (HTTPS) and a recent desktop browser. If nothing is detected, update Chrome, Edge or Firefox and reload.
- If the browser dialog asks which screen to share, pick Entire screen for a full test or one window for a smaller clip.
- Higher resolution gives a sharper clip but a bigger file. The bitrate shown here tells you how many kilobits per second the clip used.
- Your test recording never leaves this page. Close the tab and it is gone.
