How the math works
- Add up fixed costs: rent + all other monthly costs = total fixed cost for the month.
- Find monthly sales target: fixed costs ÷ (margin ÷ 100). This is the sales value whose profit exactly covers your costs.
- Find daily target: monthly sales target ÷ 30 days. Sell at least this much each day to break even.
Example: rent Rs 25,000 + other costs Rs 15,000 = Rs 40,000 fixed. With a 20% margin you need Rs 200,000 of monthly sales, which is about Rs 6,667 per day. Sell more than this and the extra is your profit; sell less and you are making a loss.
