Stock level vs reorder point—
Order rule used:
Reorder Point = (Daily Sales x Lead Time Days) + Safety Stock. Suggested Quantity = Reorder Point - Current Stock (rounded up, never below zero).
How to use
- Type the item name and the units you have in stock right now.
- Enter average units sold per week, based on recent weeks.
- Enter the supplier lead time in days: how long the order takes to arrive.
- Set the safety stock percent as a buffer for surprise demand.
- Read the reorder point and the suggested order quantity. When current stock reaches the reorder point, place the order.
Note
This uses the standard retail reorder point formula. It assumes sales stay steady. For seasonal items, review the weekly sales number often. It is a planning aid, not a substitute for checking stock physically.
