Solar Net Metering Savings Calculator (Pakistan)
Find out how much a rooftop solar system with net metering can save you every month. The calculator estimates your monthly and yearly savings, the payback period, and a 25-year lifetime savings figure from the system size, your consumption, and editable import and export tariffs.
Note: Electricity tariffs are set by NEPRA and your DISCO and are revised from time to time. The import tariff default is Rs 48 per unit and the export tariff default is Rs 22 per unit — both are editable estimates only. Please verify the current notified tariffs with your DISCO before making a purchase decision.
Common home sizes: 3, 5, 10 or 15 kW.
What you pay per unit. Editable.
What the DISCO pays for exported units. Editable.

Frequently asked questions
With net metering, every solar unit you use yourself avoids the import tariff, and any extra units your system produces are exported to the grid and credited at the export tariff. Your monthly savings are the sum of the avoided import cost and the export credit.
This calculator assumes about 120 units per kW per month (roughly 4 units per day per kW), a typical average for Pakistan. Real output varies with your city, season, panel angle, shading and maintenance.
It can reduce the energy part of your bill sharply and even build export credits that roll over under your DISCO net metering rules. Fixed charges, meter rent and taxes usually still apply, so check your DISCO billing policy for the exact settlement terms.
NEPRA notifies import and export tariffs and DISCOs apply them, and these rates are revised over time. The defaults here are estimates only — enter the rates from your latest electricity bill or your DISCO notification for an accurate result.
