Frequently asked questions
What is a stock reorder level?
The reorder level is the stock quantity at which you must place a new order so new stock arrives before you run out. It equals average daily sales multiplied by supplier lead time, plus safety stock.
How is the suggested order quantity calculated?
This tool uses a simple economic order style rule. It suggests a full coverage supply based on your average daily sales, then rounds the amount up to whole pack sizes so it is easy to order from your supplier.
What do the stock status colors mean?
Green means stock is healthy. Amber means reorder soon, because stock will hit the reorder level within one and a half lead times. Red means reorder now, because stock is at or below the reorder point.
