URL Encode / Decode
Prepare text for safe use in a URL with percent-encoding, or decode an encoded URL back to readable text. Encoding makes special characters web-safe; decoding reveals what a long, garbled link actually says. Results appear instantly and can be copied.
Privacy note: Encoding and decoding happen entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to any server.
How to use
- Type or paste your text or URL in the Input box.
- Turn on Full-URL mode if you are encoding a complete URL, so its : / ? & characters stay intact.
- Click URL Encode to encode, or URL Decode to convert a percent-encoded string back to readable text.
- Click Copy Output to copy the result. A malformed % sequence in decode mode will show a clear error.
Good to know
- Encode any text with spaces or special characters before putting it in a URL or query string.
- Decoding is handy for reading long garbled links from emails and ads.
- A malformed % sequence in decode mode will show a clear error, not garbage.
- Use Copy Output to avoid typos when pasting the result elsewhere.
