How the calculation works
- The rate is first converted to a rate per gram: rate ÷ grams in the rate unit (1000 g for 1 kg, 500 g for 500 g, and so on).
- The entered weight is converted to grams, then price = weight in grams × rate per gram.
- The rate table uses the same rate per gram for every common weight, so all rows stay consistent.
Example: rice at Rs 320 per kg and a 1.5 kg bag = 1500 g × (320 ÷ 1000) = Rs 480.
