Single item
Batch of items
Add one row per item. Buy price is required and must be above zero; sell price can be any number.
| Item name | Buy price | Sell price |

Markup vs margin — with an example
Buy an item for 100 and sell it for 150. The profit is 50.
- Markup: profit shown against the buy price. 50 / 100 x 100 = 50%.
- Margin: profit shown against the sell price. 50 / 150 x 100 = 33.33%.
Use markup when you set prices from cost (common for wholesalers and shopkeepers). Use margin when you report profit on revenue (common for business accounts and investors). To hit a target margin of m% from a buy price, the formula is: sell price = buy price / (1 - m/100).
How to use
- Choose Single Item for one product, or Batch of Items for a full list.
- Enter the wholesale (buy) price and the retail (sell) price.
- Press Calculate — you will see profit per unit, markup percent and margin percent.
- In batch mode, check per-item results and the total profit at the bottom.
Good to know
- If the sell price is below the buy price, the result shows a loss — markup and margin turn negative.
- Margin is always the smaller number because it divides the same profit by the larger selling price.
- The batch totals use overall profit / overall buy (markup) and overall profit / overall sell (margin).
- Currency is not converted — enter prices in your own currency.
