Winter Solar Output Estimator
Solar panels produce noticeably less power in winter. Enter your system details below to estimate daily winter output and compare it with your summer production.
Your System
Each city uses typical winter and summer peak sun hours, shown below as estimates.
In winter, a steeper tilt facing the sun captures more of the low midday sun.
Losses from inverter, wiring, dust and heat. 15% is a common default.

How to read this estimate
- Daily kWh is calculated as
system kW × peak sun hours × (1 − loss %). - The monthly figure is the daily winter value multiplied by 30 days.
- Sun hours are typical estimates for your selected city — you can type your own if you track actual production.
- Shorter winter days, lower sun angle and morning fog all reduce output; the comparison bar shows roughly how large that seasonal drop is for your system.
