Frequently asked questions
NEPRA determines a separate tariff for each distribution company based on its own cost of supply, losses and service area. That is why the per-unit rate for the same slab can differ between LESCO, K-Electric and the others.
Slabs are cumulative: the first 100 units are charged at the first slab rate, the next 100 at the second rate, and so on. For example, 250 units are billed as 100 units at slab 1, 100 at slab 2 and 50 at slab 3.
This tool estimates the energy charge only. Real bills also include general sales tax, income tax where applicable, fuel price adjustment, fixed charges, meter rent and quarterly adjustments, so the printed bill is higher than the energy charge alone.
It depends on how many units you use, because each DISCO has its own slab structure. Enter your monthly units and check the comparison table — the cheapest and most expensive DISCOs are highlighted automatically.
