Disclaimer: Bank profit rates vary between banks and change over time — always use the exact rate from your bank. Tax rates can also change; confirm the current withholding tax rate with the FBR or your bank. This tool is an estimate, not financial advice.

How to use

  1. Enter your deposit amount in PKR, the annual profit rate and the tenure in months.
  2. Choose the profit payment frequency: monthly, quarterly, or at maturity.
  3. Select your tax status — active taxpayer (filer) or non-active taxpayer (non-filer). The tax rate field updates automatically, and you can still change it manually.
  4. Press Calculate Profit to see gross profit, tax, net profit, maturity amount and effective monthly income.

Tips

  • Being on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL) usually means a much lower withholding tax rate, so check your filer status before opening a deposit.
  • Profit frequency does not change the total profit in this simple calculation — it only changes when the profit reaches you.
  • Compare the net profit (after tax), not the headline rate, when comparing offers from different banks.
  • For longer tenures, also check whether the bank compounds the profit or pays it out — payouts do not earn extra profit.

Formula: Gross profit = Deposit x (Annual rate / 100) x (Months / 12). Tax = Gross profit x (Tax rate / 100). Net profit = Gross profit minus Tax.

Frequently asked questions

The tool uses simple profit: deposit amount multiplied by the annual profit rate and the tenure in years. Profit frequency (monthly, quarterly or at maturity) changes only how the net profit is paid out, not the total.

This tool defaults to 15% withholding tax for active taxpayers (filers) and 35% for non-active taxpayers (non-filers). Both rates are editable on the page because tax rates can change, so confirm the current rate with the FBR.

Effective monthly income is the net profit after withholding tax divided by the tenure in months. It shows what the deposit earns you per month on average.

No. Bank profit rates vary between banks and change over time. The 12% default is only a starting estimate — enter the exact rate the bank offers for an accurate result.
