How to use
- Enter the on-road or ex-showroom car price in rupees and the down payment as a percentage of the price.
- Choose the financing tenure in years (1 to 7, the range banks in Pakistan commonly offer) and enter the annual markup rate as a reducing-balance rate.
- Add the bank processing fee in rupees so it is included in the all-in total cost.
- Press Calculate to see your monthly installment, total markup, total cost of the car, and the year-by-year table showing how each year splits between principal and markup.
- Compare tenures: a shorter tenure means a higher monthly installment but much less total markup.
Frequently asked questions
How is the monthly installment calculated in this car financing calculator?
The calculator uses the standard reducing-balance amortization formula. The financed amount (car price minus down payment) is spread over the tenure in monthly installments at the annual markup rate you enter. Each installment partly pays the markup on the remaining balance and partly reduces the principal, so the markup portion shrinks every month.
What is included in the total cost of the car shown here?
The total cost includes the down payment, all monthly installments over the full tenure, and the processing fee you enter. It does not include insurance, tracker charges, registration, or other bank fees unless you add them to the processing fee field.
Why do early installments contain more markup than later ones?
With reducing-balance financing, markup is charged on the outstanding principal each month. In the early months the outstanding balance is large, so most of each installment goes to markup. As the balance falls, a bigger share of each installment goes toward the principal. The year-by-year table in the results shows this shift clearly.
Is the installment figure here exactly what my bank will quote?
No, this is an indicative estimate. Banks may add insurance, tracker installation, documentation charges, and other fees, and their effective rates and rounding can differ slightly. Always confirm the final installment schedule with your bank before signing.
Disclaimer: This calculator gives an indicative estimate only. Banks in Pakistan usually add insurance, tracker charges, documentation fees, and other costs that change the final installment. Confirm the complete payment schedule and all charges with your bank before making any decision.
