Targets for next year
The tool suggests starting points below. Edit them to fit your goals, then print.
This is an estimate. General information only, not financial advice.
How to use
- Enter your total income for the year and your annual spending in each of the ten categories.
- Enter your debt at the start and end of the year plus your current emergency fund balance.
- Read your savings rate, debt change, emergency cover and money health score.
- Adjust the three suggested targets for next year and print the page.
Note: Savings = income minus spending. Savings rate = savings / income x 100. Emergency cover = emergency fund / average monthly spending.
Tips
- Use bank statements, not memory — most people underestimate small daily spending.
- A 20% savings rate is a solid goal; if you are below 10%, fix one big category first.
- Three to six months of expenses in an emergency fund protects you from new debt.
