How to Check Your FESCO Bill Online in Pakistan

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) supplies electricity to Faisalabad and nearby districts in central Punjab. Paper bills get lost or arrive late, but checking your bill online takes two minutes and shows the same figures: units consumed, current charges, arrears, taxes, and the due date. This guide walks you through the check, explains each part of the bill, and covers what to do when something looks wrong.

What You Need Before You Start

You need one thing: your 14-digit consumer reference number, printed on any old FESCO bill near the top of the stub, in groups with spaces, for example 12 12345 6789012 U. The online form asks for the 14 digits only, without spaces, dashes, or the trailing letter. Keep an old bill, a photo of one, or the number saved in your phone. If you have never seen a bill for the connection, the number is on the meter installation record, or confirm it at the FESCO sub-divisional office for your area.

You do not need a CNIC, a mobile number, or an account to view the bill. The reference number alone is enough. A CNIC matters only for SMS alert registration or complaints.

How to Check Your FESCO Bill Online, Step by Step

  1. Open the official FESCO duplicate bill page, using the link published on the official FESCO website.
  2. Select FESCO as the company if the page lists more than one distributor.
  3. Enter your 14-digit reference number without spaces or dashes.
  4. Submit the form. Your current bill appears, showing the billing month, units consumed, amount payable, and due date.
  5. Use the print or download option to save a copy. It is accepted for payment at banks and payment agents just like the original.

Portals slow down near the due date, so check a few days early. The same lookup pattern works for other distributors too: see our guide to checking a LESCO bill online.

How to Read the Bill Once It Appears

Five figures matter most: the billing month and reading dates (the period covered), the units consumed (current reading minus previous reading), the current charges (unit cost plus fixed and variable charges for your tariff category), arrears (unpaid amounts carried over), and the amount payable by the due date. Paying even one day late adds a surcharge to the next bill, so note the due date at once.

Two more lines deserve a look. The tariff category (domestic, commercial, or industrial) decides the rate schedule. The meter status line tells you whether the reading was actual or estimated: an estimate means the reader could not access the meter that month, so the bill uses an average. It is adjusted the following month once an actual reading is taken, but two estimated months in a row should be reported, as explained below.

How to Download and Print a Duplicate Bill

The duplicate bill carries the same reference number, amount, and due date as the original. Save it as a PDF on your phone, and print a copy for bank-counter payment. Keep the paid copy or receipt until the next bill shows a zero balance, as proof if a payment is ever disputed. For the equivalent LESCO copy, see the LESCO Duplicate Bill Download guide.

How to Pay the FESCO Bill After Checking It

Pay through the usual channels: bank branches, ATMs, mobile banking apps, wallet apps that list utility bill payment, or a payment agent with the printed duplicate bill. Pay before the due date, keep the receipt, and check the next bill to confirm it was credited. If it does not appear, take the receipt to the bank or FESCO office. Our Electricity Bill Check tool covers the same lookup for other distribution companies.

Common Problems and How to Fix Them

No record found after entering the reference number

This almost always means a typing mistake. Re-enter the number digit by digit from the old bill, without spaces. If it still fails, check that FESCO (not another distributor) is selected, and confirm it from a second old bill.

The bill shows units far higher than usual

Compare the bill reading with your meter today. If they are close, the consumption is real, usually a new appliance, a faulty one running constantly, or a seasonal change such as a heater or air conditioner. If your meter reading is much lower, the bill may carry a wrong or estimated reading, so file a correction request.

The bill is estimated for a second month

Visit the FESCO sub-divisional office with your CNIC, a copy of the bill, and a photo of the current meter reading, and ask for the reading to be recorded and the bill corrected. Keep a copy of what you submit.

The name or address on the bill is wrong

This does not stop you paying, but it causes trouble later for connection transfer or load changes. Correct it at the FESCO office for your area with your CNIC and proof of ownership or tenancy.

You lost the bill and do not know the reference number

Visit the FESCO office with your CNIC and address to recover it, then save it in your phone so you never need the paper bill again.

If the Bill Is Wrong: How to Complain

Start with the FESCO complaint channel for your area, published on the official FESCO website. Note the complaint reference number. For a wrong reading, attach a clear photo of the meter showing the current reading and meter number. If it is not resolved, escalate through the route in our WAPDA complaint guide, keeping copies of every bill, receipt, and complaint reference until the corrected bill arrives.

Quick Checklist

  • Save your 14-digit reference number in your phone today.
  • Check the bill at least three days before the due date.
  • Confirm the units against your meter if the amount looks unusual.
  • Download the duplicate bill and keep the payment receipt until the next bill.
  • Report a second consecutive estimated reading instead of waiting for it to fix itself.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my 14-digit reference number on a FESCO bill?

It is printed near the top of the bill stub on any old FESCO bill, shown as 14 digits in groups with spaces. Enter the digits only, without spaces or dashes, in the online bill form.

Can I check my FESCO bill without the reference number?

No. The online check needs the 14-digit reference number; a name, address, or CNIC alone does not bring up the bill. If you have lost the number, recover it from the FESCO office for your area with your CNIC and address, then save it in your phone.

Why does the FESCO bill page say no record found?

Usually the reference number was typed wrong, or the wrong distributor was selected. Re-enter the number digit by digit from an old bill and confirm FESCO is selected. If it still fails on a second old bill, visit the FESCO office to confirm the number.

Is the duplicate bill from the portal valid for payment?

Yes. The duplicate bill carries the same reference number, amount, and due date as the original paper bill, and banks and payment agents accept it. Keep the payment receipt until the next bill shows the payment credited.

What should I do if my FESCO bill shows an estimated reading two months in a row?

Take your CNIC, a copy of the bill, and a photo of the current meter reading to the FESCO sub-divisional office and ask for the reading to be recorded and the bill corrected. Keep a copy of your request and the complaint reference number until the corrected bill arrives.
