Loan EMI & Amortization Calculator

Enter your loan amount, annual interest rate and tenure. Get your monthly EMI, total interest and total payment — plus a full amortization schedule showing principal, interest and remaining balance for every period.

How to use

  1. Enter the total loan amount you want to borrow.
  2. Enter the annual interest rate charged by the bank or lender.
  3. Set the tenure in years and extra months (for example 2 years and 6 months).
  4. Your EMI, total interest and full schedule appear automatically.

Good to know

  • EMI is calculated on a reducing balance — early payments include more interest, later ones more principal.
  • Loans up to 12 months show a month-by-month schedule; longer loans show a year-by-year summary.
  • Fees, insurance and processing charges are not included in the totals.

Note: The results assume a fixed interest rate and fixed tenure. Actual bank installments may differ slightly due to rounding or charges.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How is the EMI calculated?

EMI = P x r x (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n - 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate (annual rate divided by 12 and by 100), and n is the total number of monthly payments. It is a standard reducing-balance calculation.

What is shown in the amortization schedule?

For each period the table shows the principal paid, the interest paid, and the remaining loan balance. Loans up to 12 months show a month-by-month schedule; longer loans show a year-by-year schedule to keep the table readable.

Does this work for car loans, home loans and personal loans?

Yes. It works for any fixed-rate reducing-balance loan: home loans, car loans, personal loans, or any installment loan where the monthly rate and tenure stay fixed.

What happens if I enter an interest rate of 0?

With 0% interest the EMI equals the loan amount divided by the number of months, every payment goes fully to principal, and the schedule shows zero interest for all periods.

Is my loan data stored anywhere?

No. All calculations run in your browser; the loan amount, rate and tenure are never sent or stored anywhere.
