Smart savings tips
Venue and catering (the big two)
These two usually take half the budget. Book in the off-season, compare at least three halls, and keep the guest list honest — every 100 extra guests at Rs 1,500 per head adds Rs 150,000.
One decorator, three events
Hire one decorator for all events and reuse flowers and stage props. Many decorators give a package discount for booking Mehndi, Barat and Valima together.
Photography hours, not days
Pay for the hours you actually need instead of full-day packages. A 4-hour package per event is often enough and can save 30 to 40 percent.
Dresses: rent or re-wear
Designer rentals for one event cost a fraction of buying. For family outfits, re-wearing with new stitching or dupattas looks fresh at almost no cost.
Digital cards
Printed cards for close family and elegant digital invites for everyone else can cut the card budget by more than half.
Keep a 10 percent cushion
Put 10 percent of the total budget in the Miscellaneous category of one event. Last-minute costs always appear, and a cushion keeps you calm.
