How to Check Your GEPCO Bill Online in Gujranwala

GEPCO, the Gujranwala Electric Power Company, supplies electricity to Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal, Hafizabad, and Mandi Bahauddin in Punjab. If your paper bill has not arrived, or you want to see the amount before the due date, you can view the same bill online in under a minute. You need only one number from an old bill, and there is no login and no fee for viewing it.

What You Need Before You Start

  1. The 14-digit reference number printed near the top of any old GEPCO bill, under Reference No. Type the digits only, with no spaces or dashes.
  2. The Urban (U) or Rural (R) letter printed with that reference number. You must pick the letter that matches your bill when you search.
  3. The Customer ID as a backup: if you do not have a reference number, the Customer ID printed on the bill works as an alternative search on the PITC portal.

You do not need an account, a password, or a login to view the bill. Keep an old bill, a clear photo of one, or the number saved in your phone. The same lookup pattern works for other distributors too: see our guide to checking a FESCO bill online.

How to Check Your GEPCO Bill Online, Step by Step

  1. Take any old GEPCO bill, or a clear photo of one, and copy the 14-digit reference number.
  2. Open the official PITC web bill portal for GEPCO, using the link published on the official GEPCO website. The GEPCO page on the PITC portal is listed as bill.pitc.com.pk/gepcobill; if that address has changed, use the link on the official GEPCO website instead.
  3. Select Reference No, enter the 14 digits exactly as printed, and choose U for Urban or R for Rural to match your bill.
  4. Submit the form. Your latest bill opens with the billing month, units consumed, amount payable, and due date.
  5. Check that the name and address on the bill are yours. Then print the bill or save it as a PDF for payment or for your records.

Portals slow down near the due date, so check a few days early. For the equivalent LESCO walkthrough, see our guide to checking a LESCO bill online.

How to Read the Bill Once It Appears

Five figures matter most: the billing month and reading dates (the period covered), the units consumed (current reading minus previous reading), the current charges (unit cost plus fixed and variable charges for your tariff category), arrears (unpaid amounts carried over), and the amount payable by the due date. Paying even one day late adds a surcharge to the next bill, so note the due date at once.

Two more lines deserve a look. The tariff category (domestic, commercial, or industrial) decides the rate schedule. The meter status line tells you whether the reading was actual or estimated: an estimate means the reader could not access the meter that month, so the bill uses an average. It is adjusted the following month once an actual reading is taken, but two estimated months in a row should be reported. If you want to estimate next month from your units, use our Electricity Bill Estimator.

How to Get a GEPCO Duplicate Bill

A duplicate bill is simply the same online copy. Once your bill is open, use the print button or save it as a PDF. The printed copy carries the same reference number, amount, and due date as the posted bill, and banks accept it for payment. You can also pay without a printout: banking apps and wallet apps that list utility bill payment need only the reference number. Keep the paid copy or receipt until the next bill shows a zero balance, as proof if a payment is ever disputed. Our Electricity Bill Check tool covers the same lookup for other distribution companies.

If Your Reference Number Does Not Work

  1. Use the number from your latest paper bill. GEPCO has revised some reference numbers, so an older saved number can fail even when it worked before.
  2. Check for a mistyped digit, and confirm you picked the correct U or R letter. Enter the digits only, with no spaces, dashes, or extra letters.
  3. Try the Customer ID search on the PITC portal instead of the reference number search.
  4. Check an old payment receipt in your banking or wallet app, where the number is stored against past payments.
  5. Visit your GEPCO sub-division office with your CNIC and meter details as a last step, and ask them to confirm the current reference number for your connection.

Note that the portal does not offer a search by CNIC or by name. Avoid any site that asks for your CNIC to look up a bill.

Getting Help for an Outage or a Billing Dispute

For an outage or a billing dispute, use the complaint channel published on the official GEPCO website or on your bill, and keep your reference number ready when you contact them, because every query is tracked against it. Check the official GEPCO website for the current helpline numbers before calling, because helpline numbers change. If the bill amount itself looks wrong, compare the reading printed on the bill with your physical meter and take a dated photograph of the meter showing the reading and meter number, then follow the complaint route in our WAPDA complaint guide if it stays unresolved.

Quick Checklist

  • Save your 14-digit reference number and its U or R letter in your phone today.
  • Check the bill at least three days before the due date.
  • Confirm the name and address on the bill are yours before paying.
  • Download the duplicate bill and keep the payment receipt until the next bill.
  • Report a second consecutive estimated reading instead of waiting for it to fix itself.
